In neighborhoods across the United States, vulnerable and disadvantaged families experience emotional and behavioral challenges that are difficult to overcome. About 650,000 adults and 245,000 children have been diagnosed with mental illness in Louisiana alone. This number is shocking, and the rates are increasing with no clear end in sight.  

Here at Gama Insurance Agencies, we truly have a heart for those in need. We want to do everything in our power to bring awareness to individuals in our community struggling with mental illness. For this reason, we are thrilled to announce our agency will be teaming up with NAMI New Orleans to achieve its ambitious mission to hope, help, and heal individuals.

NAMI of New Orleans is a nonprofit organization for families and individuals whose lives have been affected by mental illness. They seek to use their resources to educate the public, eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness, and advocate for increased funding and research for the causes and treatments related to mental illness.

Educating ourselves and others on the warning signals of mental distress is more important than ever. If everyone does their part by practicing a few simple actions, you can make all the difference in a person’s life when they may need it.

At our agency, we make it our mission to support our community in various ways through our cause campaigns.
