According to an article by the Daily Advertiser, humanitarian aid organization “Save the Children” ranked Louisiana as the worst state for children to live in America based on four factors: hunger, dropping out of school, teenage pregnancy, and early death due to poor health, accident, murder or suicide. This is a harsh reality, and this is why we want to help change at least one of these factors.
Stand For Children Louisiana has advocated for better and equal education standards for all Louisiana children for 20 years. They have done this by utilizing their three-pillar approach: Parents, Politics, and Policy. By working to identify local roadblocks facing children in public education and advocating for solutions to fix those challenges, they have made a difference in many children’s lives.
